'Breaking Dawn' Star Dakota Fanning In Talks For 'If I Stay'

Actress may star in Heitor Dhalia-directed film based on Gayle Forman's young adult novel.

Summit Entertainment likes to keep its "Twilight" stars in the family. The studio kept Robert Pattinson in the mix with romantic drama "Remember Me" and cut another check to Billy Burke for the upcoming action flick "Drive Angry." Then there's Dakota Fanning, who not only starred in the sci-fi "Push" but in the last two "Twilight" flicks as well. And as she gears up for work on "Breaking Dawn," she just might be staying put with Summit.

The 16-year-old actress is in talks to star in Summit's "If I Stay," a supernatural story adapted from Gayle Forman's young adult novel, according to Variety.

"Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke was originally attached to direct the film, with Summit chief Erik Feig saying in 2009, "When we were thinking of the perfect director to capture the emotion, grace and passion of this beautiful book, one filmmaker became the clear and only choice: Catherine Hardwicke." But now Hardwicke is out — off to direct "Red Riding Hood" with Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman — and Brazilian director Heitor Dhalia is in.

"If I Stay" follows a gifted classical musician named Mia (to be played by Fanning) and her indie rocker boyfriend. Mia and her family suffer a devastating car accident, leaving the young girl trapped between life and death and forced to decide if she has the will to live.

There's no word yet about when the film will shift into production, but Fanning should be busy for a while with the two parts of "Breaking Dawn."

Summit Entertainment have just sent us some brand new casting information for their top hit, Twilight: Breaking Dawn. We already know that Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson will be back for the 3rd (and 4th) installments whcih will be broken into two movies. This news gives us more information on who’ll be in the other Covans and Nomads!

Both movies are directed by Bill Condon and are based on the novels by author, Stephanie Meyer.

    THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN — Casting Update

    Summit Entertainment announced today the following have been cast in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN for roles in The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven as well as the American and European Nomads as outlined below.

    THE AMAZON COVEN

        * The Amazon Coven is comprised of Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina
        * Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe.  They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.

        * Higgins is repped by Framework Entertainment; Shekoni is repped by Visionary Entertainment as well as Venture IAB in the US and International Artistes in the UK.

    THE EGYPTIAN COVEN

        * The Egyptian Coven is comprised of:
              o Omar Metwally (RENDITION, MUNICH) as Amun.
              o Andrea Gabriel (Lost, House) as Kebi.
              o Rami Malek (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) as Benjamin.
              o Angela Sarafyan (LOVE HURTS, THE GOOD GUYS) as Tia.
        * The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.
        * Metwally is repped by Untitled Entertainment and Paradigm; Gabriel is repped by Rebel Entertainment Partners; Malek is repped by WME and Kyle Fritz Management; and Sarafyan is repped by Innovative Artists.

    THE IRISH COVEN

        * The Irish Coven is comprised of Marlane Barnes (THE TREE OF LIFE) as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan and Patrick Brennan as Liam.
        * The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie’s talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.

        * Barnes is repped by House of Representatives.

    THE ROMANIAN COVEN

        * The Romanian Coven is comprised of Noel Fisher (THE PACIFIC, FINAL DESTINATION 2) as Vladimir and Guri Weinberg (MUNICH) as Stefan.
        * The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi.  For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.
        * Fisher is repped by New Wave Entertainment and UTA; Weinberg is repped by Howard Entertainment and Defining Artists Agency.

    THE AMERICAN NOMADS

        * The American Nomads are comprised of:
        * Lee Pace as Garrett (Pushing Daisies, THE GOOD SHEPHERD).
        * Toni Trucks (MUSIC AND LYRICS) as Mary.
        * Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Randall.
        * Erik Odom as Peter.
        * Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.

        * Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle’s closest and oldest friends.

        * Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.

        * Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates.  They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player.  They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.

        * Pace is repped by CAA and Management 360.  Trucks is repped by Henderson Hogan Agency.  Odom is repped by Brick Entertainment.  Curry is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment.  Tangradi is repped by The Gage Group.

    THE EUROPEAN NOMADS

        * The European Nomads are comprised of Joe Anderson (THE CRAZIES) as Alistair
        * A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority.  Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.
        * Anderson is repped by CAA and Management 360.

Twilight's Nikki Reed Excited to Become Immortal Aunt

 Edward and Bella may become proud parents in the soon-to-be filmed Twilight: Breaking Dawn, but it's Nikki Reed who may be the most excited about the introduction of baby Renesmee.

"Selfishly, I'm really pleased with my relationship with this kid," the actress, 22, tells PEOPLE while attending a Cirque du Tacori event in Santa Monica, "but I really like the way it affects my relationship with Jacob."

Reed's character, Rosalie Hale, has always had a sizable chip on her shoulder when it comes to Taylor Lautner's shape-shifter, but after reading through the new scripts, Reed is looking forward to exploring her vampire's softer side.

"In the first part of the books Jacob and I hate each other," she says, "but we bond over this baby and we develop this connection that is really powerful."

It's a connection that Reed says is reminiscent of her off-screen friendship with costar Lautner, 18.

"It feels similar but at the same time more volatile than the relationship that I have in real life with Taylor," she says. "We're obviously buddies, but there's a playfulness that we get to explore that wasn't there before."

'Breaking Dawn' Breakouts: Will New Castmembers Become Big Stars?

We take a look at the résumés of new 'Twilight' vampires Lee Pace, Noel Fisher and more.

Last summer, no one knew who Xavier Samuel was. Then he was cast as the vampire Riley in "Eclipse" and suddenly found himself an object of fascination in the "Twilight" community.

Now a new crop of actors, many of whom are largely unknown, have joined the franchise for "Breaking Dawn," the two-part finale of the supernatural series. Summit Entertainment announced on Wednesday that the studio had cast the members of the Amazon, Egyptian, Irish and Romanian vampire covens and the American and European nomads. Following on the heels of Samuel in "Eclipse," which of these folks might become the fresh breakout stars of "Breaking Dawn"? Let's take a look.

Lee Pace: The 31-year-old "Pushing Daises" star is easily the biggest name announced this week. And that gives us a hint that his character, Garrett (one of the American nomads), will likely play a meaty role in "Breaking Dawn." Canceled last year, "Daises" was a critically lauded show that was perhaps a bit too quirky to attract a mainstream audience. Pace, though, is an immediately likable fellow with a boyish grin and an old soul. Expect to hear a ton about him in the coming months.

Noel Fisher: This former child actor is perhaps best known for his part in "The Riches," an AMC drama in which he excelled, going to toe-to-toe with Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver. He's one of those actors who can communicate a damaged rage with just one intense stare. His character, Vladimir (part of the Romanian coven), is not so much a smoldering vamp in the vein of Edward Cullen as a straight-up creep show. Yet that won't stop fans from clamoring for the 26-year-old Fisher's attention.

Judi Shekoni: The glamorous British actress is set to portray Zafrina of the Amazon coven. The part, which draws her into close contact with Bella and Renesmee, should give Shekoni a bunch of lines. That screen time, combined with her striking good looks, could set the actress up for an outpouring of affection from Twi-hards.

Joe Anderson: It's unclear how large Anderson's role, as European nomad Alistair, will end up being. But the guy has got acting chops: He turned what could have been a disposable supporting part in "The Crazies" into the film's most compelling character. It'll be interesting to see his look in "Breaking Dawn," as Alistair is described as having dark hair, while Anderson is a natural blond. Regardless, the 28-year-old Brit deserves more than a passing glance from the "Twilight" community.

Taylor Lautner Is Good With the Ladies, 'Breaking Dawn' Co-Star Says

Chaske Spencer is buffing up his bod, hitting the gym six days a week, before he starts filming 'Breaking Dawn,' the fourth installment of the wildly popular 'Twilight' vampire franchise. The actor is ready to reunite with his wolf pack co-stars in Vancouver next month, joking that the guys have practically become a "boy band" at this point.

"We're kind of stuck with each other," he joked about bonding with his co-stars on and off set.

And as for Taylor Swift's musical apology to Lautner, Spencer admits his co-star is much better with the ladies than he is.

Twilight Stars Possibly Planning an Odd Commitment Ceremony

Two of the stars of the ‘Twilight’ Saga movies have recently been rumored to be planning a wedding ceremony, just like the characters that they play in the ‘Twilight’ movies.

Robert Pattinson, 24, and Kristen Stewart, 21, have consistently refused to answer the rumors about whether or not they are dating ever since they met on the set of the ‘Twilight’ movies, however, speculation consistently abounds as the two are often seen together outside of filming. According to a source close to the acting pair, Pattinson and Stewart have decided that they want to make a commitment to each other and are planning a commitment ceremony to each other sometime in December.

The source reports that, because Stewart is quite a dark and moody person, she wants the ceremony to be performed by a voodoo priestess from New Orleans. The source also claims that, in order to avoid even more speculation, the couple will not wear wedding rings afterwards, but will simply give each other a gift that is symbolic of their love for each other.

They will also get matching tattoos, reportedly small anchors that will serve as a symbol of their love for each other that keeps them grounded and centered, even in the midst of some of the stormy weather that they have come across in their relationship. The source continued on about Pattinson and Stewart’s relationship, discussing how the two have gone through immense highs and lows, but are finally ready to really commit to each other and be serious in their intentions.

The couple has often been photographed hanging out together, and were recently rumored to be buying a house together, something that has neither been confirmed or denied.

Before the third installment in Summit Entertainment's wildly popular vampire franchise entitled "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" hit theaters, nobody seemed to be looking as far as the 2011 release of "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn." Let's be real, that's quite a ways a way. Now that the studio is prepping for the DVD release of "Eclipse," there's not much else to look forward to in the "Twilight" world thus "Breaking Dawn" talk is starting to heat up.

 

The other day, director Bill Condon posted an update to the official "Twilight" Facebook page, revealing that they're in thick pre-production. He stated, "Has it really been five months and a day since my last dispatch? In my defence, they've been five months spent immersed in the world of TWILIGHT, something I'm sure you can all appreciate. We're in the thick of pre-production now, juggling everything from casting to storyboarding to location scouting, getting it all ready to go, but I do want to take a moment to announce to you exclusively a few of the amazing production team members who are hard at work alongside me, bringing these movies to life. I hope that you'll be as excited about them as I am." Read on for more! "Guillermo Navarro, who won an Academy Award for the beautiful PAN'S LABYRINTH is our cinematographer. Well, it sounds like the crew is certainly hard at work. We're not so sure about the actors. Okay, I'm only joking. The first part of "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" is scheduled to hit theaters November 2011 with the second part arriving in the summer of 2012.

The longtime rumored lovers were seen enjoying their meal at the Japanese restaurant in Beverly Hills on Sunday, October 10 while talking to their friends.

A newly outed video has shown Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart having a dinner date at Matsuhisa Japanese restaurant in Beverly Hills on Sunday, October 10. In the more than 2 minutes footage, Robert and Kristen were seen simply enjoying their meal and talking to each other.

After having the sushi date, Robert and Kristen, who were at that time accompanied by their friends, got into a Beverly Hills cap. Once they were in the cab, the rumored lovers were seen ducking down as snappers refused to fail capturing them. Though so, the two were snapped sharing a hearty laugh while in the back of the taxi.

According to E! Online prior to the sushi date, Robert and Kristen attended a private pool party at the Thomson hotel on Friday. During the party, a source told the site that the "Twilight" stars didn't try to hide their affection as they reportedly "held hands and were kissing."

"They looked really happy, laughing and hanging out side-by-side the entire time," the source went on. "It wasn't like they were trying to hide they were dating. They were just smoking and hanging out with friends. No one bothered them. They just looked like a normal couple!"

Taylor Swift has opened up about Twilight star Taylor Lautner, telling a US magazine that they will "always be close". The 20-year-old makes her comments in an interview with the November issue of Glamour magazine. Talking about the 18-year-old actor, who she was rumoured to have dated, the country singer said: "He's one of my best friends. "He's wonderful, and we'll always be close. I'm so thankful for that." The Grammy Award winner also spoke about being "stoked" about meeting Sir Paul McCartney, who she was due to meet at a concert in Nashville. She said: "When I found out I was going to get to meet him, I couldn't talk — I was so stoked. "I'm bringing my whole band with me; they are geeking out!" We can assure Melissa and the Twilight team that the world is ready to see Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart get busy!

The first Twilight novel and movie showed Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (aka Edward Cullen and Bella Swan) never moving past kissing, and for all of their undying love, and Edward Cullen’s lack of a woman for several hundred years, well, it was a little unbelievable. But we were assured that Edwards couldn’t make a move on Bella because if he did, well, his vampire strength may, ummm….kill her…yeah, that’s it.

Maybe that’s why the public has become so fascinated with the news that the real stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are dating. It’s as if the Twilight fans are saying, “ Please, can they just have sex already? Either in real life or on screen, c’mon….”

Twilight star Robert Pattinson features in a new episode of animated show The Simpsons, kind of.
A forthcoming Halloween edition of the programme features a vampire called Edmund, but in a typically weird twist by the show’s bosses the character is voiced by Harry Potter man Daniel Radcliffe.

The yellow family will spoof the Vampire films with ‘Tweenlight’, which will feature in ‘Treehouse of Horror XXI’.

And in other news about the show artist Banksy has directed his own version of the famous Simpsons titles.

His take on the intro features the graffiti man’s tag all over the Springfield landscape before the sequence takes a dark turn.

Depressed looking minions are shown animating the show and manufacturing Bart dolls, in a surreal spin on the usual titles.

Facinelli says Twilight scripts are 'awesome'

The actor, who plays Dr Carlisle Cullen in the franchise, posted a message on his Twitter page to tell fans about the upcoming movie.

He wrote: "Just read the 'Breaking Dawn' scripts. I must say... AWESOME! Very excited. :)"

The first part of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' is due to be released on 18 November.

Official: Mackenzie Foy joins 'Breaking Dawn'

It's official: 9-year-old Mackenzie Foy will play Bella ( Kristen Stewart ) and Edward's (Robert Pattinson) daughter, Renesmee, in "Breaking Dawn," the series' author Stephenie Meyer confirmed on Facebook late Wednesday.

"Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy," wrote Meyer. "She's an amazing young actress and I'm excited to work with her." [Related: Find out who will play the Denali clan.]

The newcomer has appeared in TV shows "FlashForward" and "'Til Death."

Director Bill Condon is expected to use similar special effects as David Fincher in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" to show Foy aging 17 years over the span of seven years. EW.com, which first reported the story, said that Summit may also employ younger actors in scenes.

The move is set to hit theaters in two parts: the first on November 18, 2011, and the second on November 16, 2012.

Last month, it was announced that "Lost" star Maggie Grace signed on to play Irina -- who blames the Cullen family for killing her lover -- in the vampire saga.
